Reminds me of Chenopodium giganteumk. It randomly grew in my garden. I learned that you can eat it too. Also my mother made "spinach" from young hops shoots and stinging nettles ;P

Interesting about the sap! I didn't know that. I like to sometimes help the little ones onto the smaller leaves/buds on top, since that seems to be their plant parts of choice. Guess I saved them some trouble.

I love monarch caterpillars, they are just so sweet. And so focused! Cute little sausages wearing striped sweaters. I love watching them snack on the milkweed before tucking under a leaf to rest. And their little white toes are simply adorable.

You can make the stakes - and the logs - last a LOT longer in the dirt by just charring them on a fire, or with a propane torch. Try to use hardwood stakes, even better if you can get cedar, yew, and other rot-resistant wood. Nice video, very simple method that works well.

Not only do the gills glow, the mycelium does as well.. I grow them because of this, as I am fascinated by the bioluminescence. The brood bags can be used as a lightsource to read by, in my completely darkened shed. Currently waiting on the next flush. 2 patches in the backyard, one on beech, the other on oak chips. On two nights, The light was bright enough to clearly see them with a half moon. Going from having a fear of mushrooms to growing them in my shed... I saw the light, hehe.
